SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT

SKINny Wellness is open Monday-Friday, there is a $30 dollar deposit to hold your appointment time and is put towards your treatment total. Late and Saturday appointments are available by appointment only. It is strongly recommended to schedule your appointment in advance to secure the time and date you are looking for. Scheduling appointments last minute might result in not being able to accommodate your requests.

CANCELLATIONS

Your treatment time is reserved especially for you. We all know life happens, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance should you need to cancel or reschedule. Any client with two or more consecutive cancellations with less than 24 hours of notice will be expected to prepay a $100 deposit for their next scheduled service prior to booking the appointment.

When you miss an appointment with us, we not only lose your business; but also the potential business of other clients who have requested an appointment for the same time. When you schedule your appointment with us, you are agreeing to these policies. We value your business and appreciate your cooperation with our cancellation policy as a courtesy to our small clinic and other clients.

INSURANCE

All the services and products we offer are considered elective procedures and not of medical necessity. Insurance will not cover any of the services or products we offer, so we do not accept insurance.

Medical Weight Loss

WHAT SHOULD YOU KNOW ABOUT WEIGHT-LOSS DRUGS?

There has been so much information alluding to bad outcomes in people who are not Type 2 diabetic taking GLP-1 agonists (Wegovy, Ozempic etc.). For now, we understand there is a shortage in the pen mechanism for these medications, not the medication itself.  Although this medication is for the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes, it does help those people who are prediabetic lose weight and gain control of their "A1C" in order to prevent becoming a diabetic. With this medication, meal planning and weekly follow ups, our goal is to help you learn to make better choices and learn to live a healthier lifestyle. We LOVE to be able to help prevent disease from occurring instead of being reactive and treating once you get a diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE SIDE EFFECTS?

Mild side effects, such as nausea, constipation and diarrhea, are common. They may lessen over time. Rarely, serious side effects can happen. That's why it's important to have an honest conversation with your health and wellness provider. Some medications can interact with other medications you may be taking, so make sure you give your provider a good history and ask about the possible benefits and risks of each drug. When you come to SKINny Wellness, we want you to honest with us and yourself about your goals, your medical history and your habits. We want you to be comfortable and not afraid to talk to us about yourself.

DOES INSURANCE COVER ME FOR WEIGHT LOSS?

This medication for this purpose is not covered by insurance. You are more than welcomed to request a detailed receipt and submit it to your insurance, however we do not guarantee coverage and we do not file to your insurance.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I STOP TAKING THESE MEDICATIONS?

Many people gain back some of the weight they lost when they stop taking weight-loss drugs. Practicing healthy lifestyle habits may help limit weight gain, so make sure you are getting into a weight loss program that can do more than just prescribe medications. Understand these medications are not the cure to obesity. These are tools which are meant to aid in your health journey to getting healthy. Health is a state of mind and definitely a lifestyle. Be patient with yourself and talk candidly with your provider, we at SKINny Wellness are here for your juourney to getting healthy and STAYING that way.

WILL I BECOME A DIABETIC IF I TAKE THESE MEDICATIONS FOR WEIGHT LOSS AND I AM NOT CURRENTLY A DIABETIC?

NO! but think of it this way. If your BMI is over 30, you likely have something called Metabolic syndrome, which can be a precursor to Type 2 diabetes. If you are afraid of taking these medications, there are other options. Call us today to book a consultation.

CAN I CALL YOUR OFFICE WITH QUESTIONS?

Yes. We can answer simple questions if you cannot find that information on our website. We never do consults over the phone for several reasons. First, we may have a day that is full of appointments and the provider cannot come to the phone. Second, it is unfair to those who have made an appointment to take up their time. Third, if you are interested in becoming a client or partaking in any of our services, we want to give you our undivided attention. We want you to leave an appointment with us empowered and with tools to help you be a better you, so we would love to be able to meet you in person and discuss your goals.
